Wow. What kind of title is it – mixing risks and intrigues on cruise vacations? Well I guess that someone needs to answer the question so …
Where Should I Get Started?
Well let's start with some information about the location of the Bermuda Triangle. As one can guess it has something for the island of Bermuda. Certainly there are other theories in the Bermuda Triangle location.
For our purposes we will take the generally accepted location of the place between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami. Draw a line on a map from Bermuda to Puerto Rico to Miami and back to Bermuda and you have many people as Bermuda Triangle.
You have undoubtedly heard about all the mysterious disappearances in the area of "Devil's Triangle" sometimes called. The ships and planes disappearing without a trace. Navigation tools are crazy … It's amazing that anyone goes through the area!
Yet every year countless ships sail into the waters of the Triangle. Airplanes fly their trans-Atlantic flights from the southeastern U.S. to Europe, Asia and Africa.
What About Cruises?
So what about cruises? Do any cruises actually travel through the Triangle?
Believe it or not, almost every cruise ship traveling from the east coast of the United States to the Caribbean sails to or through the Bermuda Triangle. (Some cruises out of Miami can miss most places if they travel to the western Caribbean But it comes in or near a top of the triangle.)
Is there any reported disaster on board cruise ships traveling on this water? Is there any disorder? Are there any concerns?
I did not get a reported incident on board cruise ships navigating waters between Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico that can not be counted. Some time-related events have occurred but are associated with typhoons in the area.
Storm Dangers in the Bermuda Triangle
As I mentioned above there are events related to the weather. Any cruise on any Caribbean waters is subject to severe weather especially during the storm when the incident occurs.
So wherever you navigate, when your sail may cause greater risk than the actual location itself. Cruise ships today have the ability to identify dangerous waters and the Captains have the authority to avoid violent weather. There are back-up plans for cruises in the events of seasonal hurricanes.
So How Is It Dangerous?
How dangerous is the voyage of the Bermuda Triangle? Let me ask you these questions:
How many people have you heard of the news that was killed in a car accident? Walking on the road? Riding their bicycles?
Now how many unnatural deaths have you heard of cruise ships sailing in the waters of the Bermuda Triangle?
Any death on a cruise ship is almost international news. The death of the traffic you hear is locally only.
It is dangerous for you to walk down the busy streets rather than to cruise the Bermuda Triangle.
